I see the state we are in today and I think to myself that this is one of those times when, the advice that an hour not spent remembering the name of Allah, is an hour wasted rings most true. It is also one of those moments when the state of the Ummah is most painfully felt. All we need to say is Alhamdhulillah, A'laa kulli Haal. And we need to say Bismillah, in all matters that we direct to him. And remembering Him by. When we say Bismillah we are exerting our entire Tawheed to Allah in all matters. Specially in the matter that we say Bismillah to. It is Tawheed Uloohiya, Tawheed Rububiya and Asma'wa Sifat combined. Allah permits me to be. To take an action, to sit, to stand up and walk, to learn and to read the Quran. Every sustenance and all tests are from Him. The 'Ba' in Basmalah is itself is'tinaa and tawakkul. We seek blessings from Him. In the Arabic language, Bismillah implies the action we are referring to, we don't say Bismillah, I eat. Bismillah, I sit and so forth. The cause does not have a transitive effect. The cause is implied and action is implied. Bismillah is by definition an act of worship. Therefore an act of remembrance. How often within the last hour have we said Bismillah, or Alhamdhulillah? We cannot cause anything to happen even if we leave out saying Bismillah, we have no control over causes. By saying Bismillah we are leaving the matter to Allah. Say Bismillah, before you leave your house, say it when you sit in a vehicle, say it when you enter a place. Why should we not say it more? The Quran has a 114 ayahs with Bismillah, all Surah's except Surah Taubaa begin with Bismillah. And Surah Naml in ayah 30 includes the Basmalah. Even the Prophet (pbuh) began all matters with Bismillah. He began his Letters with Bismillah. In its full form Bismillah Ar- Rahman Ar-Raheem, means... In the Name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful (towards His creation), the Especially Merciful (towards the Mumin).
